Dr. Emad Farrag is a UK-trained senior consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London, and has been registered as an Approved Clinician under the UK Mental Health Act 1983.
Dr. Farrag completed his general psychiatry training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, followed by higher specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He has led the development of child and adolescent services within one of the largest private mental health providers in the UK, particularly focusing on autism and integrated psychiatric care in educational and residential settings.
He has worked extensively within the UK NHS and in Abu Dhabi, where he developed the first Adult ADHD Care Pathway in Abu Dhabi, and most recently as Head of Psychiatry & Director of Children’s Services at well known facilities. He has collaborated closely with ADEK in supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN) and People of Determination (PoD).
Dr. Farrag is a founding member and executive board member of the United Kingdom ADHD Partnership (UKAP), where he has contributed to training and guidelines cited in hundreds of international research papers. He has a special interest in ADHD across the lifespan, advocating early detection and seamless transition of care from childhood to adulthood.
With experience in both the Middle East and the UK, Dr. Farrag delivers cross-cultural, patient-centred care, and continues to promote mental health awareness and training across the region.
